Atlanta zip code 30327 listed among the safest (Debra Johnston)

ATLANTA — Just one month after rattling off several Atlanta neighborhoods as the most dangerous in the nation, WalletPop.com has named one Atlanta neighborhood among the safest in the country.

According to the data gained from NeighborhoodScout.com, the Paces area (ZIP code 30327) was listed among the safest 29 neighbhoods in the nation. More specifically, the area is bordered by I-75 and US 41 on the north and east, the Chattahoochee River on the west and roughly Moores Mill Road on the south (the actual southern border runs along Peachtree Creek).

According to the data, the crime rate in that neighborhood is 11.20 over 1,000. Your chances of becoming a victim there are 1 in 89. This is compared to Atlanta’s Carter Street neighborhood, a community on the most dangerous list, where your chance of becoming a victim is 1 in 8.

According to the WalletPop list, what’s the safest big city community in the US? The Cahuenga Boulevard area of Los Angeles. Your chances of becoming a victim of violent crime there are 1 in 1,042.
