Inspired: Southern Artist Leigh Blackistone

Recently our Intown Office commissioned Leigh Blackistone for installations of her artwork.  With  abounding Southern graciousness, Blackistone infuses her special brand of passion, energy and creative sensitivity into everything she designs.  We asked her to create pieces that would be in keeping with the upscale contemporary style of the office, and with master insight she delivered twelve original oils on canvas, each displaying surreal yet subdued scenery while still containing a colorful palette .  Each work seeks to elicit a powerful emotional reaction from her audience. Art treasure buried in Goodwill store

Her art is funky, vibrant and eccentric. So is she. Beth Feeback, 45, and her husband, Steve, 35, are artists living in Concord. Beth has been painting whimsical, wide-eyed cats for seven years and has since expanded her portfolio, incorporating other animals, oddities and commissioned pieces, even a jar of mayonnaise. Steve is a digital and spray-paint space artist. Together, with their four cats, the artists enjoy a balance of color, spirit, laughter and bills. As it is with many artists, the work is sporadic. In Beth’s case, even when there is work, sometimes her rheumatoid arthritis prevents her from painting. A routine visit to her allergist/immunologist lead Lauren Kimel to spring into action. Dr. Robyn Levy had heard of Atlanta teenagers in foster care that were likely be overlooked this holiday season and she was looking for someone who would help match her donation of thirty $50 gift cards to Target. Lauren sent out a company wide email and as a result the goal of 30 gift cards was profoundly meet with a total of 84 $50 gift cards! The kindness and generosity of our agents and staff was overwhelming. Each gift bag was prepared with festive holiday decoration and included candy and chap stick.
