In a collected effort, Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty delivered pillows, blankets, diapers and more to vicitims of the recent Atlanta floods.
Driving an oversized red van, Julie Silber, REALTOR®, coordinated the donations and delivery.
The real heros in this story are the organizations providing services to those in need.
The items related to children (including diapers, wipes etc.) were dontated to MUST Ministries. MUST Ministries is a faith-based organization which for thirty-seven years has been dedicated to providing services to persons and families in crisis while maintaining their dignity. MUST is a place where one’s faith can be put into action and where we can minister to the poor, the brokenhearted and those who are in crisis – in a place where “your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.” (Frederick Buechner)
MUST Ministries has three locations in Cherokee, Marietta, and Smyrna, and is continuing to accept donations for flood victims.
Blankets, pillows, and other linens were donated to the Cobb Civic Center, where the Red Cross is in charge of operations. Various shelters, churches, and other organizations are caring for the people who are temporarily housed at the Cobb Civic Center. Because of the delivery made today, everyone at Cobb Civic Center will have a pillow tonight.
The additional donations to the Cobb Civic Center were marked to be distributed by Calvary Baptist Church in Austell.
