Atlanta has been graced with great business minds and people of action, for generations. And for just as long, the neighborhoods of Buckhead have housed many of those leading lights. Buckhead is known for being a great place to live, yet Buckhead is also a concept that evokes such thoughts as “business success – the place to live – arrival”. It is one of the great psychological touchstones of Atlanta success.
The shut down of the Streets of Buckhead project in 2009 was a blow to the collective spirit of Buckhead, and as a consequence, the business community of Atlanta. It was a measurable point of reference that demonstrated our general ill feelings on the state of the economy.
When it was recently announced that the Street of Buckhead project was going to restart, there was a positive wave that swept the community. Our hats are off to all at Ben Carter Properties for the restart. It represents a powerful concept of its own – resurgence. The restart – amid incredible financial obstacles – shows the value of dedication, hard work and the will to keep trying when every fiber of your being may be saying give up – and never stopping until a solution is found. It will be a joy to pass by the construction site and see workers present and the project awakening. It is an inspiration to us all to keep forging ahead.
