Pollstar magazine ranked Atlanta’s Philips Arena the No. 2 concert and event venue in the United States and No. 5 in the world.
The rankings are based on attendance figures released by Pollstar magazine in its July 16 edition.
“Philips Arena makes it possible for live entertainment to be the unforgettable and inspirational experience that it was meant to be,” said Bob Williams, president of the Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena, in a news release. “We believe we have one of the pre-eminent sports and entertainment venues in the world, and these rankings reaffirm that millions of guests and artists believe this too.”
In April 2009, the 10-year-old Philips Arena became the first NBA or NHL arena to achieve LEED certification for an existing building as specified by the United States Green Building Council.
