The 32,000-square-foot Neo-Classical mansion was built in 1992. The 58-acre estate, with 1,200 feet of Chattahoochee River frontage, is in the Johns Creek area of North Atlanta. The grounds include an 18-hole golf course, swimming pool, grass tennis court, croquet lawn, amphitheatre, 3-acre stocked lake and formal gardens in French, Italian and Oriental styles
“This sale represents the highest purchase price for any residence in the Atlanta area since the sale of the Dobson estate, ‘Descante’ on Tuxedo Road, also completed by Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty,” said company co-founder Jenny Pruitt.
Within the 3 ½-story Entrance Rotunda is a dome modeled after that of the Duomo Cathedral created by Brunelleschi in Renaissance Florence. Each of the manor house’s 9 bedrooms has been designed in a unique architectural or historic theme, including the Egyptian Suite, the Old English Bedroom Suite and the 3,000 square foot Master Suite on the main level.
