Three Georgia based companies are on Fortune Magazine’s “Top 100 Best Places to Work” List

Three Georgia companies are among the best places to work in America, according to FORTUNE magazine.

In its 2011 “100 Best Companies to Work For,” published Thursday, it named Columbus, Ga.-based Aflac Inc. (NYSE: AFL) and Atlanta-based Alston & Bird LLP and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta as the best places to earn a paycheck in the Peach State.

Insurance company Aflac was ranked 57th overall, down from 37th in 2010. It praised Aflac for offering on-site child care and half-day “pampering binges” to its employees, 66 percent of whom are women.

Law firm Alston & Bird came in at 13th, up from 20th in 2010. It too was lauded fro offering child-care options, including a “child-care campus a block away from its offices” that includes subsidized rates for lower-salaried employees.

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta placed 60th, down from 74th in 2010. FORTUNE noted the hospital has a “generous adoption and fertility benefits and pays a $1,040-a-year child care subsidy.“
