Friday will be a big day for Buckhead public schools. Parents and students will get prepared for the start of school Monday, Aug. 8, with special events. Parents can meet their youngsters’ teachers, pick up pre-ordered school supplies, join the PTA, sign up for volunteer opportunities and purchase school T-shirts. At Sarah Smith, E. Rivers and Warren T. Jackson, “celebrations of learning” will take place. At Morris Brandon, it’s the “Bee-nanza.” Garden Hills will have an open house. Smith, Rivers and Jackson will have separate events at their primary and intermediate campuses. North Atlanta High, which has a guide to the school year on its web site, will have an orientation for students. Sutton Middle School will have orientation for sixth graders and new seventh and eighth graders.
