Festival, food: More than 40,000 adventurous eaters are expected at Taste of Atlanta, the yummiest event of the year. Music, festival: The Stars of ’80s Rock featuring Jeff Carlisi of .38 Special headlines the third annual Dunwoody Music Festival. That headlining concert is a separate ticketed event within the festival and begins at 7 p.m. Oct. 22. The festival overall begins at 10 a.m. Oct. 22 and noon Oct. 23 in Brook Run Park.
Halloween, festival: Little Five Points has been keeping Atlanta weird for decades, and the Little Five Points Halloween Festival and Parade is one sure way to make sure it stays freaky. The music begins at noon Oct. 22 and the parade starts at 4 p.m. in the neighborhood surrounding Moreland and Euclid avenues.
Conference, travel: Head to the Atlanta Travel and Adventure Show with Faith Travel Conference to hear tips from travel experts including Pauline Frommer, the Travel Channel’s Samantha Brown, PBS’s “Georgia Traveler” hosts David Zelski and Michelle DeShields, and representatives from many destinations. It happens at the Cobb Galleria Centre Oct. 22-23.
Festival: The folks at Country Living magazine bring their Country Living Fair to Stone Mountain Park, with a show and sale of folk art, antiques, crafts, furniture, home decor and more. The fest runs Oct. 22-23.
Festival: The Smyrna Fall Jonquil Festival showcases work by more than 150 artists and crafters from across the country on the city’s Village Green Oct. 22-23.
SUNDAY
Beloved comedian and actor Bill Cosby will bring his warm, familiar style of stand-up comedy to Atlanta for two shows at 3 and 7 p.m. Oct. 23 at Ferst Center for the Arts on the Georgia Tech campus. Check out our chat with the living legend.
Festival, pets: Bring your four-legged friend of any breed to Boxerstock, where there will be music, vendor booths, children’s activities, a concession stand, canine demonstrations and a silent auction. Animal Planet’s Victoria Stilwell will be there, too. It’s happening at Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta noon-6 p.m. Oct. 23.
Music: Northside Drive Baptist Church’s Music on the Hill series continues with violinist Olga Shpitko and pianist Tim Whitehead performing works for piano and violin by Ravel, Brahms, and Piazzolla. The concert begins at 3 p.m. Oct. 23.
