Historic Roswell, a suburb of Atlanta, is located in North Fulton County on the west side of 400. Founded in 1830, while on a trip to North Georgia Roswell King passed through the area and observed the great potential for building a cotton mill along Vickery Creek. Since the land nearby was also good for plantations, his idea was to put cotton processing near cotton production. Filled with history since the 1830s, you will find Teddy Roosevelt’s childhood antebellum mansion in the area, as well as other plantation homes, which are currently used for special events.
