Decatur, Ga., has been named among the top 10 “Tastiest Towns in the South,” according to Southern Living magazine’s January issue, which will appear on newsstands Dec. 23.
Decatur was cited “as an emerging mecca for foodies who relish Dekalb Farmers Market and destinations like Cakes & Ale, Feast, and the Iberian Pig,” according to the magazine.
The magazine’s editors chose the top 10 based on the following criteria: Food as a cultural identity, growth of a culinary minded community, diverse cuisine at a variety of price points, local and sustainable food practices, hot chefs on the rise, and an abundance of buzz-worthy food events.
Also in the top 10 are Baltimore, Birmingham, Charleston, Charlottesville, Va.; Houston; Lafayetta, La.; Louisville, Ky.; New Orleans and Raleigh.
The winner will be picked by the magazine’s readers, who can cast their vote for at southernliving.com/tasty beginning Dec. 23.
