The Peachtree Garden Club will have its annual holiday home tour this Thursday, Dec. 8th!

Four spectacular and significant residences decorated for the holidays by  talented club members will be presented to the public.  Each year  up to 1,000 visitors with a passion for architecture, design and gardening attend. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Peachtree Garden Club Community Fund.

The homes include “a charming English Country style home decorated by Lou Stormont Interiors and a French style home designed by noted architect Barry Fox of Barry Fox Associates of New Orleans and decorated by Anne Parker of Barnett-Parker Designs,” the club said.

Also on the tour will be a traditional home situated on the banks of the Chattahoochee River and a Virginia-Tidewater home with historical elements from 18th century homes of Williamsburg.

Tickets may be purchased in advance for $25 by going online to www.peachtreegardenclub.org or at the door of any of the homes on the day of the tour for $30 (on day of tour only cash or checks will be accepted) as well as  at Boxwoods Gardens and Gifts, 100 E. Andrews Drive.

Peachtree Garden Club was founded in 1923 and had its first Christmas Tour in 1949, which continued through the 1960s. The tour was revived in 2008 “as a way to give back to the community and lift peoples spirits,” the club said.

This year’s tour honors member Patricia Crawford Hartrampf, a past president and mentor to the club and community in horticulture, flower arranging and photography. Vickie Dorsey, Debbie Hudson and Barbara Slick are this year’s tour chairwomen and Elizabeth Martin is the club president.

Created in 2003 to serve charitable, scientific and educational needs in the fields of conservation and horticulture, the Peachtree Garden Club Community Fund awarded over $100,000 in grants this past year.  Last year’s recipients included the Neel Reid Scholarship Fund for the School of Environment and Design at the University of Georgia, Atlanta History Center for improvements to Swan Woods Trail, Cherokee Garden Library, Atlanta Botanical Garden, Friends of English Avenue and the Southeastern Horticultural Society.
