Crabapple, a Metro Atlanta suburb, is an area filled both with history and today’s amenities. Centered at the crossroads of Highways 140 and 372, it is also known as “the Silos area.” The historic heart of Crabapple is anchored by an historic brick building at the crossroads of Crabapple Road-Mayfield Road, Birmingham Road-Broadwell Road, and Mid-Broadwell Road.

Crabapple is a combination of single-family homes, townhomes and lofts. Single-family homes are of newer construction, in both bungalow and craftsman style, and typically sit on 1/3-acre lots with front and rear access. Garage space is limited so street parking is common in Crabapple. Townhomes are garden-style and the lofts are situated above the business center. As part of the Fulton County school system, the area is served by top ranking schools: Crabapple Crossing Elementary, Northwestern Middle and Milton High School. There are a considerable number of private schools in the surrounding area as well.
Many small locally owned businesses are centered in and around Crabapple as well as major grocery and fitness chains. Crabapple is a very walkable area and offers an abundance of restaurants including the historical Milton’s Cuisine, Cans Taqueria, Olde Blind Dog Irish Pub, Vintage Pizzeria and Sip Wine and Tapas Bar. Here too you have a dry cleaner, nail salon, dentist and orthodontists, pet salon, pilates studio, ice cream shop, bakery, hair salon and art studio. North Fulton Regional Hospital is located 10 minutes southwest of Crabapple for convenient healthcare.
Residents of Crabapple enjoy using the extensive sidewalk and crosswalk systems to walk and jog from their homes to area amenities. Local parks and green spaces include a manmade lake that does allow fishing and a dog park. North Atlanta agent Michele Gallagher enjoys “the Milton Farmers Market which officially started in the spring of 2009. Located in the Crabapple Mercantile area of the city, you can find produce grown locally, hand sewn clothing, craftsman furniture, and the like.” Also twice a year, Crabapple hosts an antique fair called the Old Times at Crabapple Antique Festival, where shoppers love an outdoor stroll while browsing antiques and unique pieces of art.
Crabapple is truly an ideal neighborhood. North Atlanta agent Janet Boyden loves “Crabapple’s suburban location with an urban way of life, great restaurants, top schools and easy access to GA400 and the rest of the Atlanta.”
