Help keep the Atlanta Beltline within its vision! A developer has submitted plans for a big box retail space (one big store plus 10 acres of parking lot) along the Beltline and since it is still zoned industrial, it does not require the developer to go before the public to seek a variance. Unfortunately, the City and the Office of Planning didn’t rezone the areas that lie in the Beltline overlay plans allowing for this type of situation. The Beltline Subarea 4 Masterplan that was the result of a lengthy process of public input is simply being ignored.
You can use the email template to send an email to your elected officials and ask them to use what influence they may have to speak up on your behalf and change this.
