Deane Johnson joined Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty in 2013 after 29 years of selling real estate as the broker of his own firm founded in 1984. A fourth generation Atlantan, Deane’s history is so steeped in real estate that his course was charted from childhood.
Owner of M. Deane Johnson Homes, Deane is recognized by Atlantans for creating such prestigious enclaves as West Paces Park, show homes on the covers of national and local magazines for charities and historically authentic restorations of landmark properties. The Institute of Classical Architecture & Classical America has honored the firm’s work with its Philip Trammell Shutze Award while the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation presented Deane’s firm with its Award for Excellence in Restoration of a classical home on Blackland Road.
Deane credits his successful career to his great-grandfather, John L. Harper, founder of Harper Realty Co. in 1911 and his father, Bob Johnson, builder and developer of such noted communities as North Harbor on the river in Sandy Springs. Bob, devoted to children in the community, was founder, head coach and athletic director of the Atlanta Colt Youth Association. Deane’s family also owned and operated Harper’s Flowers on the corner of Fourteenth and West Peachtree Street for 75 years.
Following the 100-year tradition of exceptional service that Atlantans have come to expect, Deane will serve his clients with an extraordinary commitment to excellence in real estate. Having designed, developed, built and sold more than $100,000,000 in real estate in a 10-year period for himself and his partners, Deane will continue to represent both sellers and buyers with the same high integrity and trust that those who have dealt with him have come to expect.
