DeShawn’s personal mission is to empower, encourage and enrich the lives of young girls and women. She accomplishes this through her children’s book series, her foundation and her speaking engagements. Born and raised in Michigan, DeShawn earned a Bachelors of Arts degree from Michigan State University in marketing. In her spare time, she enjoys running, traveling, serving in her church and spending quality time with her three sons.
