Alpharetta is one of Atlanta’s popular upscale suburbs, and one of its most exciting features is Avalon, a mixed-use development that opened its doors in late 2014. Here are some things you need to know about Avalon.
-
It is great for the city of Alpharetta.
Avalon is projected to bring in about $21 million in sales tax revenue each year, along with 4,000 permanent jobs that include retail, hotel service and white-collar work.
-
You can live there.
Above the building’s retail shops, you will find four stories made up of 250 one- and two-bedroom rental apartments. Each unit has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, wood grain plank flooring and high speed Internet. Residents can take advantage of concierge services, housekeeping, delivery service and pet sitting, among other amenities. Monte Hewett is also building over 100 single-family residences as part of the project.
-
You can shop there.
Whether you need clothing, home décor or groceries, Avalon is home to dozens of well known retail stores. They include Whole Foods, Pottery Barn Kids, Gap, J. Crew, Crate and Barrel, and Banana Republic.
-
You can eat there.
Of course, you do not want to spend a day shopping without grabbing a bite to eat. Kona Grill, Marlow’s Tavern, Bocado Burger, Ted’s Montana Grill, Pinkberry and Oak Steakhouse are just a few of the restaurants located at Avalon.
-
You can play there.
Need something to do with the kids on a rainy day? How about a date night? Avalon has a Regal Cinemas movie theater that features the first 12-screen all-premium VIP theater with a full-service kitchen and bar in the United States. There is a living room with a bocce court, swings, a fire pit and a water fountain, as well as 1,300-square-foot play area for children under the age of six. When you need to rest, visit the family lounge.
-
There is a dog park.
Avalon is not just for mom, dad and the kids. Bring your furry family members, too. Unleashed Doggy Day Care sponsors the Avalon Dog Park, which features an off-leash area for your pets.
-
You will never be inconvenienced.
From EV charging stations located throughout the property to full resort-style concierge services, you’ll find that living, working and shopping at Avalon means very little inconvenience. Valet parking is even available in two areas.
-
It is easy to get there.
Avalon is located right off Georgia 400 at the exit for Old Milton Parkway. This means it is a great central location for residents of Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek and Milton, as well as a quick 20- to 30-minute drive north out of Atlanta.
-
It is big.
Avalon sits on 86 acres and features over 500,000 square feet of retail space and 750,000 of office space. It will eventually have a 47,000 square foot convention center and 300-room hotel.
-
It is technologically advanced.
Avalon is the first place in the state of Georgia to feature Gigabit technology, which means Internet speeds that are 100 times faster than what you probably have at a home.
