Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s VP Bill Rawlings Featured on “Perspectives” Podcast, Talks about Atlanta Market

Bill RawlingsLast month, our own Bill Rawlings, Vice President and Managing Broker for the North Atlanta office of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty, was proud to be a featured guest on “Perspectives,” a podcast hosted by Lenihan Sotheby’s International Realty in Louisville, KY. hosted by Greg Fleischaker.

On the podcast, Bill and Greg chat about some of the similarities between the Louisville and Atlanta housing markets, as well as Bill’s own Kentucky roots. But even more, Bill had the opportunity to shine a spotlight on Atlanta and talk about some of the great reasons why people choose to make their home here, including great schools, arts/culture, sports, weather, and the presence of the largest passenger airport in the world, among other things.

The two also discussed some of the dynamics of what fuels the vibrant real estate market in Atlanta and why Sotheby’s is able to market some of these benefits worldwide. Among the highlights of the discussion:

  • Atlanta’s wide-reaching luxury market (over 1,300 properties listed at $1 million and above)
  • The diversity of options within the luxury market, from amenity-rich condos in Buckhead to sprawling homes on the golf course
  • The favorable absorption rate for luxury homes in Atlanta (roughly 15 months or less)
  • The presence of no less than eighteen Fortune-500 companies in Atlanta, including Coca-Cola, UPS, Home Depot and others, helping to fuel demand for housing

One of the most poignant stories Bill related was how Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s recently closed on the largest resale home sale in Atlanta’s history (listing at $25 million, closing at $17.5 million), and how through video marketing and an online presence Sotheby’s International Realty was able to attract and retain the interest of a buyer who had all but written off Atlanta as a destination.

Our thanks to Greg Fleischaker and the “Perspectives” podcast for the opportunity to promote the benefits of Atlanta’s vibrant real estate market.
