Bill Rawlings Recognized with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Chairman Award

Each year, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) recognizes and celebrates the outstanding contributions of individuals, corporations and organizations for their achievements in helping position LLS as the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancers. The Georgia-South Carolina Region of LLS recognized Bill Rawlings with the LLS Chairman’s Award, which was presented by Brian Fuller, GA/SC Board of Trustees Chair, at the Annual Board Retreat on February 28 at Bobby Jones Golf Course in Atlanta, Georgia.

Rawlings first became involved with LLS in the 2015 Man & Woman of the Year campaign in Atlanta, when he and his candidate class raised over $1.1 million in support of the LLS mission to cure blood cancers and improve the lives of patients and their families. He was named the 2016 corporate walk chair by the Georgia Chapter of LLS for its 2016 Atlanta Light The Night Walk, an annual fundraising event that raised more than $1.5 million that year. He continued his volunteer leadership on The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Georgia Chapter Board of Trustees in 2016 and served as Chairman of the Board from 2019 to 2021.

As Executive Strategist and Senior Vice President of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty, Rawlings has been in the real estate industry for nearly two decades. He directly oversees more than 150 of North Atlanta’s finest real estate professionals, with a 2020 sales volume eclipsing $900M in closed sales in the North Atlanta office. His contributions to the industry were acknowledged by his industry peers by being named the 2017 President of the Atlanta REALTORS® Association, the 2018 REALTOR® of the Year and the 2020 President’s Award Winner. In 2017, the Atlanta Business Chronicle named Rawlings one of the 100 Most Influential Atlantans in Real Estate.

“Everything that Bill Rawlings has done at and for LLS, he’s left leadership and impact in his wake,” says Brian Fuller, current Board Chair. “He’s made an enormous impact on many of LLS programs and left every leadership position he’s held in a stronger place following his term.”

In his final year as the Georgia Chapter Board Chair with LLS, Rawlings led the chapter to raise an astonishing $10,135,893 in the fight against blood cancers during a year of virtual events due to the pandemic. During this year of uncertainty, Bill continued to remind the Board and staff team to “Just Ask,” and it’s through this mindset that the chapter achieved such impressive results for patients and their families.

“We are beyond lucky to partner with volunteer leaders like Bill Rawlings who selflessly dedicate their time and talent to achieve our mission, to cure blood cancer and improve the quality of life of patients and their families,” said LLS’s Georgia-South Carolina region executive director, Amanda Yancey. “With countless ways to engage, from fundraising to providing patient support, our volunteers are changing the landscape of cancer.”
