In Druid Hills, which was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted (who also designed Central Park in New York), everyone loves Lullwater, Springdale and Oakdale Roads because they are long, graceful, tree-lined streets with stately homes and flowing manicured gardens.  Many of the homes were designed by important southern architects at the beginning of the twentieth century including Neel Reid, Philip Shutze, Lewis Crook and Walter Dowling.

There are other areas in the Druid Hills neighborhood that have their particular charm.  The streets surrounding Emory Univeristy (north of North Decatur), Harvard, Cornell, Oxford and Emory Roads have classic 1920’s and 1930’s bungalows which support strong family networks.

The neighborhood around Fernbank  Elementary School, Vickers Drive, Chelsea Circle, Heaton Park Drive and Hummingbird offer the opportunity for children to walk to their local elementary school.

South of Ponce de Leon Avenue is Fairview Road with a high percentage of homes designed by Neel Reid and Lewis Crook including Neel Reid’s personal home.  Clifton Road winds it’s way through the neighborhood with homes that overlook Druid Hills Golf Course

All of these bucolic, pastoral neighborhoods afford the opportunity to stroll to Emory Village, Emory University and Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
