For years, Realtors and residents of Buckhead alike have all thought of all of Buckhead as being Area 21.

It appears that FMLS (First Multiple Listing Service) has allowed this misconception to go on for years but they have now decided to enforce the correct areas. The correct and technical terms for the two areas that cover Buckhead are:
Area 21 (Buckhead) –  Inside Atlanta City limits, bounded by I-75 on the West, I-85 on the South. Area 22 (parts of Buckhead) – West of I-75 and the Downtown Connector, North of I-20, East of Cobb County line. Starting today, in order to search for BUCKHEAD, you will need to search by zip code or remember to always search Area 22 as well as Area 21.Also, FMLS has begun sending “compliance” emails to agents/our office whose listings are in the wrong area. FMLS automatically places listings into the correct area if the initial entry is incorrect.Buckhead as defined by FMLS (Areas 21 and 22)
