Atlanta, lovingly known as “a city among the trees”, has proven itself to be abundant in luscious green spots to lay a blanket and enjoy a fine dining experience with Mother Nature. With so many popular spots (read: Stone Mountain, Piedmont Park) abounding and well-known, we went to the experts at Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International and were pleasantly surprised to discover a breezy spot you will be delighted to picnic.
Peggy Hibbert, once again chimed in with her favorite: Lullwater Park. The entrance to the park on Clifton Road in Druid Hills, was originally the driveway to the President of Emory’s home. The park includes the wooded entry road, an open field for play and picnics, and a path around the lake which is home to wildlife, including ducks on the island in the lake. There is also an old wheel house with a waterfall. It’s like a trip to the Georgia mountains in the heart of Druid Hills.
Great picnics and a little something for the whole family
Chastain Park might be a well-known place but did you know that Jay Memory, founding member of Memory Dean, comes to the playground area every Tuesday between 4-7pm (May-October) ? Known as the “Chastain Chill” Jay leads sing alongs for both the kids and the adults. Carson Matthews, Buckhead’s Green Agent, loves to take his two kids: “It’s a very interactive musical experience and they have so much fun. It’s a great chance to relax after work during the spring, summer and fall”.
