Festival, food:Music: Jazz vocalist Gregory Porter will play cuts from his newest album, “Be Good,” at the the Jazz 91.9 WCLK Jazz Night at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Fest Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech.
Music: Hometown favorites The Indigo Girls play the Atlanta Botanical Gardens’ Concert in the Garden. The show starts at 8 p.m. Sept. 14.
Stage: Born into a Hasidic family in post-World War II Brooklyn, Asher Lev’s artistic genius threatens to estrange him from his parents and his observant Jewish community in Theatrical Outfit’s “My Name is Asher Lev.” It continues through Sept. 16 at the Balzer Theater at Herren’s. Festival: The 15th East Atlanta Village Strut is absent its 5k race this year, but there are still plenty of activities, including a parade, live music, food and circus acts. It kicks off at 11 a.m. Sept. 15 in East Atlanta Village.
Festival: The Roswell Arts Festival will feature original arts and crafts from vendors from across the southeast. It starts at 10 a.m. Sept. 15 in Roswell Town Square.
Festival, food: Hungry? The Taste of Chamblee will offer up food from several local restaurants, as well as activities for kids and arts and crafts vendors. The event starts at noon Sept. 15 at Chamblee City Hall.
Music: Brad Paisley, The Band Perry and Scotty McCreery kick up their heels at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood.
