Talia has a diverse background with no shortage of accomplishments. Born in Mexico, raised in Texas and schooled at The Ohio State University, Talia is the ultimate people person. She graduated high school at the age of 17 as a Certified Nurse Assistant, obtained a degree in political science with a focus on international relations while competing as a Div-1 NCAA epeeist and served as a post-graduate analyst with researchers in a private government think tank prior to joining the Peace Corps. Fluent in English and Spanish, with a limited working proficiency in Chichewa and a dabbler in French, she is worldly, generous, easy going and makes you feel comfortable at once with her openness, confidence, sense of humor and optimistic nature.
She has spent nearly a decade as a member of several charitable organizations and a leader in the non-profit sector. Working with families from all over the world, children and adults with life-threatening illnesses, and clients in the midst of making life changing decisions, has helped nurture a passion for successful problem-solving. Talia takes great pride in working hard and has been described by her peers as having an unrelenting work ethic.
Her customer service skills are rooted in a sincere interest of understanding her clients’ individual goals and needs, which in her opinion is not only applicable to every field or venture, but an absolute must in all she does. She strongly believes in treating others the way she would like to be treated herself and understands how fundamentally life changing a real estate transaction is for the seller, purchaser, landlord and tenant. The complexities of each transaction, are nuanced with personal, financial, logistical and emotional aspects.
Talia’s interest in real estate developed organically, starting with the home her parents designed and built in Texas in their pursuit of the American Dream, to a condo purchased and renovated by the love of her life, to her work as housing coordinator for Catholic Charities Atlanta, tasked with the responsibility of finding housing for refugees. Talia is committed to providing a comprehensive customer experience to ensure her clients’ needs are met in a professional and efficient manner.
She lives in the Emory Village neighborhood of Atlanta with the love of her life, Terrence, and their two Malawian-felines, which she adopted during her stint in the Peace Corps. When she is not volunteering as a production assistant with Georgia Public Broadcasting she likes to keep busy with events in her community and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes with close college friends. Her philanthropic contributions include: Atlanta Food Bank, Atlanta Humane Society and UNHCR.
