Living in an Atlanta Country Club Neighborhood (Previously Listed)

Atlanta’s neighbor, Augusta, may have a reputation for its golfing — specifically when it hosts the Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club — but the Metro Atlanta area offers some fine golfing and country club living in its own right. Take a look at what life is like at some of these prestigious residences.

Atlanta Country Clubs

1. Country Club of the South

  • Location: 4100 Old Alabama Road, Alpharetta/Johns Creek (North Fulton County)
  • About the Real Estate: Country Club of the South is one of the most prestigious places to live in all of Metro Atlanta. Some of the city’s most famous residents enjoy the gated community’s million-dollar custom homes. You will find a variety of architecture styles among these sprawling estates with top-of-the-line amenities. Play areas, basketball courts, tennis courts and a recreation center are available to all residents. Homes start in the high $500,000s and range up to around $8 million.
  • About the Country Club: Golfers love to spend an afternoon on the 7,000-yard Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course. Golf Digest once voted it one of the “Top 20 Best Courses in Georgia.” A pool, tennis courts and a gorgeous clubhouse are also available for members.
  • Why Residents Love it: Country Club of the South has a reputation for being home to some of Atlanta’s more notable residents, and as you might imagine, security in the neighborhood is strong. Both the public schools and private schools around the community are top notch, and there are an endless amount of shopping and dining opportunities within a 5-minute drive.

2. Atlanta Country Club

  • Location: 500 Atlanta Country Drive, Marietta (East Cobb County)
  • About the Real Estate: Atlanta Country Club is home to beautiful French provincial, French country and colonial-style homes that start in the $500,000s and range up to the multi-millions. Homes sit on larger lots against wooded backdrops and offer some beautiful golf course views.
  • About the Country Club: The club sits on 260 acres and was once the host of the Atlanta Golf Class and the Tournament Players Championship. The course has also been ranked one of the 100 greatest in America. Other amenities include an Olympic-size pool, a fitness center and tennis courts.
  • Why Residents Love it: Many Atlanta residents choose to live in East Cobb because of the lower property taxes. The community is still just a quick commute into most parts of Atlanta. Atlanta Country Club also just happens to be in the Walton High School district, which is highly sought-after by parents looking to send their children to one of the top schools in the country.

3. Sugarloaf Country Club

  • Location: 2595 Sugarloaf Club Drive, Duluth (Gwinnett County)
  • About the Real Estate: Homes in Sugarloaf Country Club typically fall within the $500,000 to $6 million range. • About the Country Club: TPC Sugarloaf is located within the community and is home to a 27-hole Greg Norman-designed golf course that once hosted the PGA Tour’s AT&T Classic. Other club amenities include a beautiful antebellum-inspired clubhouse, a pro shop, tennis courts, a fitness center, a kids’ activity center, an Olympic-size pool, leisure pools for kids and adults and a play area.
  • Why Residents Love It: The amenities at Sugarloaf alone are enough to keep residents of all ages busy throughout the week, but drive a few minutes outside of the community, and you will find shopping, dining and entertainment in all directions. It is only two miles from the Infinite Energy Center, one of Metro Atlanta’s top venues for concerts and other live events. Atlanta is just 30 miles southwest of Sugarloaf.
