The holiday spirit is in the air, Atlanta! Start December and the holiday season off right with these weekend events.

Saturday

A beloved Atlanta tradition, the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Christmas Parade is the largest holiday parade in the southeast. View the parade’s floats, bands and balloons in person or on WSB-TV Channel 2 to watch Midtown transformed into Santa Claus Lane!

The wait is over. A new SEC champion will be crowned on Saturday, which will secure the winning team a spot in the 2019 College Football Playoff. Will it be the Georgia Bulldogs or the LSU Tigers? Buy tickets HERE, or attend one of the watch parties around the Atlanta area!

Jungle all the way! Attend Zoo Atlanta for their 3rd Annual Jungle Bells event and holiday tree lighting. There will be a wide variety of activities and performances such as holiday enrichment for the animals, festive snacks and beverages, caroling and orchestral holiday music, a ballet performance of scenes from The Nutcracker and more!

It’s the holidays at Halcyon! Enjoy a vintage-themed photo booth camper, live music, a Frozen performance by Stripe Studio, Santa’s arrival and more! After the celebration, you can get holiday shopping done, and eat dinner at one of the many wonderful restaurants of Halcyon.

If you need to work off those holiday calories, Happyfeat’s Run Run Rudolph 5k, which is USATF certified, is a great way to start. Show up in your Rudolph attire, jingle bells or Christmas pajamas and run (or walk) to support a great cause! Happyfeat is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing programs, activities and fun events for special needs individuals in order to make them feel included and loved.

Sunday

“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!” Stroll along Roswell’s Canton Street to listen to your favorite holiday songs, sip delicious hot chocolate, gather at the community bonfire and visit the local merchants.

All Weekend Long

Christmas with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has become a staple for Atlantans during the holiday season. Watch and listen to beautiful Christmas carols and hymns performed by the Orchestra, Chorus, tenor Timothy Miller and the Gwinnett Young Singers!

Named a Top Twenty Events 2019 winner by the Southeast Tourism Society and a Top 100 Event in North America by Southern Living, the 33rd Annual Marietta Pilgrimage Christmas Home Tour is a must! The Marietta Visitors Bureau and Cobb Landmarks & Historical Society organize the tour of lovingly restored and gorgeously decorated homes in the historic Marietta community.

Original artwork is a great gift idea for your friends and loved ones this holiday season! As a cash-and-carry opportunity, you can purchase original artwork from local artists. Artists who attend can bring their own promotional materials to their booths.

Throughout December

The Atlanta Ballet’s reimagined production of The Nutcracker returns to the Fox Theatre! Watch this popular and treasured story come to life as you travel through the world of the Mouse King, Mother Ginger, the Sugar Plum Fairy and, of course, the Nutcracker.
